Chris was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. In his younger days, he was exposed to artists like Conway Twitty, Elvis Presley, Alabama, and George Strait. In 1990, he walked into a local honky tonk and experience a live band for the first time. From that moment, he was hooked.

 He started learning how to play the piano and began playing in bands. Chris was always a creative mind and later he began writing his own songs. He has released albums in 2003, 2007, and 2011, all songs that he wrote.
